CESS Institute has finalized the report of the Study on the Harmonization of the agricultural statistical systems of the member states of the WAEMU. The document is a thorough and detailed study of the various statistical systems that exist on agriculture in the WAEMU countries and also aims to present an harmonization plan for those statistics at the regional level.

The report’s conclusions are instrumental to the food security/safety issues experienced in the WAEMU area. Those conclusions will be discussed during the validation workshop, which will take place from July 17 to July 19 2013, at the Azalai Hotel in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The WAEMU Commission will benefit, at the end of the meeting, from an operational tool to facilitate the establishment of a comprehensive and uniform Regional Agricultural Information System.
